I am proud to be an elected member of the San Francisco Green Party County Council.

The Green Party is a values-oriented party. We believe in Grassroots Democracy, Social Justice and Equal Opportunity, Ecological Wisdom, Non-Violence, Decentralization, Community-Based Economics and Economic Justice, Feminism and Gender Equity, Respect for Diversity, Personal and Global Responsibility, and Future Focus. If you share these values you should consider joining us. For real.

We have adopted Ecosocialism—movement toward a decentralized system based on ecological economics—as part of our platform. We are decidedly Planet and People over Profit.

The Green Party is an activist party. We do things. When we see a gross injustice, we stand up and stand with others as “an act of injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”.

Our flawed system gives citizens some legal recourse at the ballot box. I’ve had a hand in all of the species of these that the California Constitution allows.

Citizens’ Ballot Measure Initiative—I was Director of the Coalition to Protect Golden Gate Park—a group of neighborhood activists who put 2014’s Prop H on the ballot to keep #ToxicTurf off our athletic fields in Golden Gate Park.

Referendum—I wrote and circulated petitions to repeal the Developers’ Density Bonus Plan aka. HomeSF. I saw through it as a straight-up sellout.

Recall—I ran the paperwork, legal process, and gathered thousands of signatures to #RecallEdLee.

Free Speech—I’ve also participated in so many direct actions that I can no longer recall them all. I’ve given speeches on the steps of City Hall and fought for our right to a real democratic process inside that building. I’m proud to say that I’ve stood with and offered tangible support to others speaking truth to power and occupying public spaces to engage in participatory democracy.

Election—I’m a Certified, Qualified Candidate for our District election for a non-partisan seat on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. My name’s on the ballot (I was a write-in Candidate in 2013). If you complete the arrow next to my name, you’ll have a Real Representative whose aim is Real Public Service on the Board. My Biography and Qualifications and the Actions I’ve been involved in should assure you of that. Thanks for voting your conscience with conviction.
